FSLF Participation in 2002 SLI Convention

The FSLF under President Mandy Marino hosted the delegates of the 3rd Seven Lakes International (SLI) Convention from February 16-24, 2002 in San Pablo City, Philippines.

SLI convention organizers spent several weeks in intense preparation for these event.  FSLF member Annabelle Cordon offered her home for a meeting wherein organizers finalized plans for the convention.

Some of the convention organizers and friends:  Msgr. Jerry Bitoon, Ellen Borja-Estiva, Mandy Marino, Totoy Exconde, Ken Javaluyas, Tony Pinon, Dante Capistrano, Nonong Guia, Lerma Prudente, Merlie Javaluyas, Bong Estiva, Naty Azores, Ronnie Marino & Annabelle Cordon.

On February 18, 2002, the FSLF held a Barrio Fiesta to welcome the delegates to the SLI convention.   This was held at the Medjugorje Center and grounds of the Azores compound along Dagatan Boulevard.  The FSLF made a powerpoint presentation on the condition of the seven lakes and the movement led by San Pablenos to protect the natural resources.  A ceremony was also witnessed by the guests at which Mr. Mandy Marino turned over the presidency to Dr. Cesar de Mesa Fule.  The oath of office was administered by Judge Bienvenido Reyes.

A sumptious lunch was served with entertainment provided by children from the San Pablo City Colleges, who performed Philippine folkdances to the delight of the visiting delegates.

    

Some FSLF members join the luncheon meeting held at Malacanang with President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
